And what is the "ladder"? The word sulam appears only here - nowhere else in all of scripture. The root word salal simply means "to elevate, exalt, or lift up". Was it a ramp? Something physical? Perhaps, a celestial escalator? A dimensional portal? Was it simply the Word being made visible? As you've noted, in John 1:51, He claimed to be the "ladder" Himself.
Great points! Yeshua does refer to Himself as the Ladder, which connects the finite with the Infinite. Moshiach is the Mediator between man and G-d, and in some mystical way Moshiach Himself has come down from the Infiniite and became flesh and made a way to redeem man back to the Creator.
This is some really heavy stuff. John 14:6 goes perfect with this....
