Dear Church

This is a call to the Church, those that would call themselves disciples of The Master, those who do not want to be ashamed at His appearing.

You must completely abandon, not your identity as the Church, not your identity as the nations (miraculously grafted into the Commonwealth of Israel), and not your scriptural practices, customs or traditions with which you understand, approach and worship G-d - but you must immediately (and with all desperation) abandon (and correct where possible) the centuries of errant teaching concerning G-d's Chosen People. You must bridge the enormous, dreadful chasm between the Church and Israel - not in a spirit of evangelical conquest, but in one of deep remorse and humility - which I hope is still possible at this point. Finally, you must actually accomplish (or, at least, very intentionally move in the direction of accomplishing) what was one of your main purposes from your creation, to worship G-d in a way that would "provoke Israel to jealousy". In your centuries of existence, you have never even come close to doing this in any capacity - and quite the opposite.

In essence, the Church needs to become what it was before it was "the Church" - a very close-knit, G-d fearing, dedicated group of Gentile believers that loved and served the People Israel, that was ready and willing to lay down its collective life rather than deny the G-d of Israel and His Messiah, Yeshua. I don't see the Church anywhere near what it should be at this point in history in terms of Gospel effectiveness or emulation of the life and love of Messiah Yeshua. I don't even think that's arguable and I don't know too many Christians who wonder why this is the case.

To reiterate, I place the blame directly on the commandeering and counterfeiting of the faith of the early Jewish and Gentile believers by the Romans and the subsequent poisoning (to varying degrees) of every single faction, denomination and church that has sprung forth from that heinous and completely satanic overtaking - as well as the myriad errant, anti-Semitic and generally lawless mindsets that we, tragically, must continue to wrestle against today, so many centuries, pogroms, inquisitions and supercessionists later.

Those that would call themselves disciples of Yeshua must be dedicated, loving and knowledgeable followers with hearts for the things and people He loved. They must be determined and unwavering in living out the example that Yeshua, being the Word made flesh, put forth for us to emulate. This belief, and the walk that springs forth from it, is a command directly from Him. It is lived out slightly differently among Jewish believers and believers from the nations, but those should only ever be identity (individual and communal) and stylistic differences - not doctrinal ones.

Please, Church, be a vessel of restoration. Please, Church, bridge this gap with nothing less than your very life. Please, Church, start this very instant - and start with prayer.

  1. Luke your heart reminds me of Paul in his letter to believers in Yeshua who lived in Rome.

God has brought many blessings to us through the people of Israel, the giving of the Law and the promises, and from whom is the Moshiach according to the flesh, who is the head of the church and over all, God blessed forever. Amen.

    Shalom Aleichem,

  2. Thank you, David. I'm honored that you would read and comment. It cannot be overstated that Yisrael is the door through which G-d, in His sovereignty, has chosen to pour immeasurable blessing on all mankind. Even in the giving of Torah, the prophecies, the promises and Messiah Himself, we have not begun to see all that Father has planned to give to those that love Him - and to all of creation. Soon, David. Thanks again.
